An edible annual plant comes from the cruciferous vegetable family. Commonly known as salad rocket and arugula in the US. It is rich in potassium and vitamin C.

Easy and quick to grow, tangy leaves attractive in patio pots. It flourishes in a warm, sunny position.

Rocket leaves have a distinctly pungent, peppery flavour and can be harvested as a cut-and-come again by snipping the leaves off with scissors. It is frequently used in salads; it is also used raw with pasta or meats added to sauces, stir fried or sautéed in olive oil.

HINT: As flower buds appear, pinch them out to prolong cropping.
