Scientific Name:	*Stevia rebaudiana*
Description:	Stevia, commonly known as honey leaf plant, sweet chrysanthemum, sweetleaf stevia, sugarleaf, etc., is a flowering herbal plant in the aster family, Asteraceae. It is grown for its sweet-tasting leaves. The leaves contain a number of sweet-tasting chemicals known as steviol glycosides, which can be used fresh or dried to sweeten beverages. Steviol glycosides, particularly the Stevioside and Rebaudioside, is more than 300 times sweeter than table sugar and are non-glycemic (i.e., they do not affect blood glucose levels). Hence, a healthier alternative to sugar.
