Carnation are heavily scented and easy to grow. Their large double-clove blooms with their long and wiry stems in a magnificent range of colours are ideal for cut flowers.
Choose a warm, sheltered or semi-shaded position that is well-drained and avoid windy aspects.
The soil should be open and friable that has been previously limed. Enrich soil with Plant Food.
It
does well in large pots and containers. Plants may require staking if it is
exposed to strong winds.
