Scientific Name:	*Calathea lancifolia*
Description:	Calathea lancifolia is an evergreen herbaceous that grows for its colorful ornamental leaves. The upper surface is light green striped with long and short dark green markings in a zebra-like pattern; the lower surface is dark purple. The leaf surface and leaf margin are both wavy.

Light:	Bright indirect light indoors, partial shade outdoors. Avoid direct sunlight as this will damage the leaves of Calathea.
Water:	Check regularly and water as needed. Water thoroughly when the soil turns slightly dry to touch. Never let the soil dry out completely.
Fertilizer:	Feed with diluted liquid fertilizer once or twice a month.
Trimming:	Gently trim away dry, brown, or yellowish leaves by using a pair of secateurs. Trimming allows available nutrients in the soil to be transferred into the new leaves which encourage intentional growth. Also, trimming allows your plants to retain in a good shape and keep pests, fungal and diseases away.
